Think of the time, with careful attention to detail, that God displayed when he molded you inside and out. Consider also the fact that he knows every hair on your head, knows your deepest thoughts, and considers you worthwhile, precious, and valuable. These are the kinds of truths your enemy doesn’t want you to believe. So he will use every opportunity to make you believe it all a myth. That you are a mistake, horribly flawed, not worthy of love, not capable, not acceptable, or truly unforgiven. So just for a second forget to be a Proverbs 31 woman. How about being a Psalm 139 and Ephesians 1 woman?
And don’t miss something very important. Did you notice your salvation benefits package listed in Ephesians 1 is basically a description of who you are as a daughter of a king? That is your spiritual identity in Christ. This is your inheritance. And since we have already established that walking in our inheritance is in fact a helmet of salvation, then wearing it actually means putting on your identity in Christ.
Now think back, all the way to the beginning of this challenge when you wrote your most problematic circumstances and pressing person that is the most difficult in your life right now, remember? It has been 6 weeks. Do you think you are ready to update or change this fear circle?
STEP 1 – Now that you can identify the enemy, what are the lies that the enemy has used in these circumstances to penetrate your mind? Write this down in your Prayer Journal.
Your identity is your weapon. Putting on your helmet of salvation is related to knowing who you are in Christ, strengthening your thinking with it, and living in a way that is congruent (in agreement) with the truth. When you do this you break the enemy’s stronghold and also tap into the power to deflect future attacks.
Renewing our minds and deflecting the enemy’s advances to control them is not for the faint hearted. It requires vigilance, aggressive, proactive attention.
Having a busy life schedule, I have to remind myself daily that I cannot set my mind on the things of this earth. I must focus on the things above. So this is how I do it – when I am in war, I don’t relax. I don’t disengage from active warfare. You don’t take a vacation. You do what ever you need to do to keep that helmet on and in position throughout your day, everyday.
Day 41 Mental Health Tip
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
